Product Description

Add old world style to your garden with the Rome Brass Armillary Sundial with Star. Armillary spheres were used for centuries as celestial globes, with rings corresponding to the meridians and parallels on a modern globe. A green colored arrow threads through a matching half circle, creating the centerpiece of this armillary. A second, horizontal ring has Roman numerals along the interior in polished brass, and finishes with two scalloped shell details. Place this armillary with the arrow pointing celestial north to use as a sundial. The arrow will act as a gnomon, casting a shadow over the numerals on the band, indicating the time. A final band connects to the base of the sundial, at the star shaped ornament. The polished brass and green finish perfectly contrast each other, and will certainly weather beautifully. As each finish is hand applied, individual items may vary. Place this unit on the ground, or mount it to a pedestal for more interest.
